Christopher Riordan

November 2, 2019 - Christopher appeared at the Hollywood Show where he sold several items from his personal collection.

Christopher is featured at the 10th Anniversary of the Blue Suede Music Festival in Busby, Alberta, in Canada, the weekend of August 24, 25, and 26, 2018.

Christopher was a VIP Guest at the Pentiction Elvis Festival in British Columbia, Canada on June 22-25, 2017.

(October 31-November 1, 2016) Christopher joined Barry and Stanley Livingston, Tina Cole and Cynthia Pepper (the cast of My Three Sons (1960)) at the Hollywood Show, as well as his cast members from Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970), Dolly Reed and Marcia McBroom.

(January 9-10, 2015) Christopher appeared in an event called "A Celebration of the King's Life" at the Cannery Casino in Las Vegas. This event featured the performances of Johnny Fortuno as well as the Stamps Quartet. Christopher was among special guests for this performance, which also included Jimmy Velvet, Sam Thompson, Dick Grob and Steve Christopher, DJ with "Elvis On Air".

At long last, Christopher Riordan and Priscilla Presley met at the 20th Annual Collingwood Elvis Festival. He worked with Elvis a little over a five year period. He did six films and one TV special with Elvis (and various documentaries). However, in all that time, he had never had the chance to meet Priscilla. [July 2014]

Was an invited guest at the restored screening of My Fair Lady (1964) at the El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard on April 26, 2013. This was part of the TCM Film Festival, and the introduction for the screening was made by Ben Mankiewicz.

Christopher Riordan appeared on the Elvis Cruise. This is a special, annual, Caribbean cruise on Carnival Cruise Lines, which includes celebrities involved in Elvis movies, television specials, and other appearances by the King. [January 2012]

Christopher Riordan and Barrie Chase were introduced at the Cinecon 47 Classic Film Festival Award Presentations at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood on Sunday, September 4, 2011. Christopher and Barrie celebrate 50 years of friendship and a working relationship with this appearance.

Christopher was guest speaker at the book signing for the Sal Mineo biography, written by Michael Gregg Michaud, held at Book Soup on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood on November 7, 2010.

Christopher Riordan was the special Guest Speaker at the 83rd Annual Memorial Service for Rudolph Valentino held crypt-side at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery on August 23, 2009.

He was simultaneously offered roles in Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970) and Myra Breckinridge (1970), but turned the latter film down.

Christopher is currently in touch with former fan club president, Linda Hoffman-Stearns. The club was established in 1969.

Appeared at the Hollywood Show as part of the Batman (1966) Cast Reunion Show in Burbank, California on April 29-30, 2017. This was promoted as the last reunion of Adam West and Burt Ward as Batman and Robin.

Has one son with Sherri Mattison: Sean Riordan (born January 7, 1964).

He currently meets Barrie Chase for lunch at least once a week. They first worked together in 1962.

There are three young actors in the film Raintree County (1957) who play the role of Jim Shawnessy, the son of Montgomery Clift, as a baby, child and teenager. Christopher plays the oldest version; however, his scene is often cut in condensed television versions.

In 1956, when playing the uncredited role of Elizabeth Taylor's son in Raintree County (1957), he was only six years younger than she. Slightly more plausible, Montgomery Clift, who played the father, was 36, making him at least 18 years older than Christopher.

In 1952, Lewis Milestone (Christopher's "adoptive" father), directed William Cottrell in his film version of Les Miserables (1952). In 1993, Christopher directed William Cottrell in his stage version of "Don Juan in Hell". Mr. Cottrell was the narrator, the role he had in the 1951 premiere performance of "Don Juan", which starred, Charles Laughton, Charles Boyer, Cedric Hardwicke and Agnes Moorehead. Mr. Cottrell was also the man Marlon Brando chose to coach him when the two appeared in the film Julius Caesar (1953).

Baby boy, Aragon was born to Amelia Mary Aragon, and was the seventh of her eight children. The first five children were fathered by a Joseph Aragon, who died somewhere between 1932 and 1935. No one seems to know the father(s) of the sixth, seventh and eighth child. Numbers 6 and 8 child were adopted within the family. Only Christopher was adopted outside of the family. Seemingly, the adoption should have been ideal. The couple came from wealth, and good breeding. Christopher was given the name Ronald William Sallows at this time. However, within a year or so of the adoption, the Sallows couple separated, and ultimately divorced. Before long, Mrs. Sallows became Mrs. Riordan; and this is the man that Christopher was told was his father. That is, until he reached the age of 15. At that time, the Riordan marriage was over. This was received with mixed emotions from Christopher. On one hand, he feared what divorce would bring; but on the other hand, he had now found out (in a not very nice way) that Riordan was not only NOT his father, but that he was adopted, as well. This was a relief, actually. Because by this time, Christopher somehow KNEW that he was NOT a part of 'these people. ' Growing up, Christopher saw his 'mother' drinking too much, and keeping company with other men. Mr. Riordan didn't drink too much; he was mean enough without alcohol. To be brief, the mental and physical abuse was truly overwhelming. After yet another so-called marriage, where the physical abuse got even worse, Christopher ran away from home, shorty after graduating from High School. Once in Hollywood, his life changed completely. First, at M-G-M, where he was immediately given a small role in, "Somebody Up There Likes Me," and then after meeting Montgomery Clift, another role in, "Raintree County. " Then, after a few years in Hollywood, his first name was changed to Christopher. Christopher was kept busy between film, TV, stage, and nightclub work from then on.
