Ciara Conway is an Irish politician who has been a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Waterford constituency since the 2020 general election. She is a member of the Fianna Fáil party. Conway was born in Waterford in 1980 and was educated at Waterford Institute of Technology, where she obtained a degree in Business Studies. She worked in the banking sector for a number of years before entering politics. Conway was first elected to Waterford City Council in 2014 and was re-elected in 2019. She was elected to the Dáil in 2020, becoming the first female TD for Waterford in over 20 years. Conway is a strong advocate for women's rights and has been vocal in her support for the repeal of the 8th Amendment. She is also a strong supporter of the LGBT+ community and has spoken out against discrimination. Conway is married and has two children.
