Claire Leroy is a French sailor who was born on 9 March, 1980 in Nantes, France. She is a four-time world champion in match racing and a two-time European champion in the same discipline. She is also a two-time Olympic medalist, having won a bronze medal in the Yngling class at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and a silver medal in the Elliott 6m class at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Leroy began sailing at the age of 8 and was a member of the French national sailing team from 1998 to 2012. She has won numerous international sailing competitions, including the ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championship four times (in 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2009). She was also the European Champion in match racing in 2004 and 2006. In 2008, Leroy competed in the Yngling class at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she won a bronze medal. She also competed in the Elliott 6m class at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where she won a silver medal. Leroy is currently the president of the French Sailing Federation and is a member of the International Olympic Committee. She is also a member of the International Sailing Federation's Council and the Executive Committee of the International Sailing Federation.
