Timeline

2006

He serves as supervising producer for Moron Life (Sketch Comedy), which made news because of the Michael Richards racial slur debacle, and of which two sketches have appeared on Torrent (2006) on G4-Tech TV in Canada.

2003

Clay got his first taste of the limelight at age 3 singing "You are my Sunshine" on stage at Foster's Clam Bake in Wells Beach, Maine. From that point on, he was hooked. Thanks to his parents, Paul and Carol, he and his sister, Kelly, spent their formative years on stage and behind the scenes at the Riverfront Playhouse in Redding, California. It was here that his love of live performance was born, and where he got the chance to work with the young Tiffany Brissette. In high school, he tried his hand at both theater and dance, and he took his enthusiasm for the stage with him to Penn State where he performed in multiple College and Community Theater productions including 'The Day Room' by Dom DeLilo and Sam and Bella Spewack's 'My Three Angels' (his first lead). Clay's work with Penn State Behrend's Concert Choir got him on stage at Carnegie Hall, and he spent four years studying and performing with the Penn State International Dance Ensemble, serving as their Vocal Director for his final year. He worked in several student films, including 'Every Day' by Kevin Burke, which was featured at the Telluride Film Festival and won a Student Emmy. After graduating with a BS in Science from Penn State, he packed up and moved to Boston, where he eventually became a member of the original Improv Asylum Touring Company. In his time there he worked with the likes of Amy Roeder, Lisa Schurga and ever so briefly studied with SNL's Amy Poehler. He did several short films for the New York Film academy, including 'Second Chances' with Teresa Huang, and he served more as a lighting instrument than an extra in the Brazilian film A Fronteira (2003).

In 2003 Clay relocated to California to be closer to his family and continues to try to find his place in the Bay Area's comedy scene.

2000

He won the Dragon Con/Atlanta Comics Expo "Whose Line" Improv Competition in 2000 and 2001.
