Curtis Lundy is an American jazz bassist, composer, and arranger. He is best known for his work with jazz greats such as Betty Carter, McCoy Tyner, and Freddie Hubbard. He has also worked with pop and R&B artists such as Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, and Whitney Houston. Lundy began playing bass at the age of 12 and was soon performing with local jazz groups. He attended the University of Miami, where he studied music and composition. After graduating, he moved to New York City and began performing with jazz greats such as Betty Carter, McCoy Tyner, and Freddie Hubbard. Lundy has released several albums as a leader, including "The Journey" (1996), "Soulful Song" (1998), and "Been Here All Along" (2005). He has also composed and arranged music for television and film, including the score for the film "The Preacher's Wife" (1996). Lundy is currently a professor of jazz studies at the University of North Florida. He is also a member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra Collective.
