Dave Bald Eagle was an American actor and tribal elder of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. He was born on April 8, 1919, and passed away on July 22, 2016. He was best known for his roles in films such as "Dances with Wolves" and "Little Big Man". Bald Eagle was a decorated World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. After the war, he returned to the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Reservation and worked as a rancher and a tribal leader. In the late 1980s, Bald Eagle began his acting career, appearing in films such as "Dances with Wolves" and "Little Big Man". He also appeared in television shows such as "Walker, Texas Ranger" and "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman". Bald Eagle was a respected tribal elder and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Indian Film Festival in 2004. He was also inducted into the South Dakota Hall of Fame in 2006. At the time of his death, Bald Eagle had an estimated net worth of $2 million.
