He joined the Ospreys in 2004 after the disbandment of the Celtic Warriors and played in 22 games, scoring 4 tries altogether. This earned him a call up to the national team but soon after suffered a serious knee injury in a game against Munster. In 2009, he joined Sale Sharks and in August 2010 he joined Newport Gwent Dragons for a short spell before signing a 5 months contract with Edinburgh Rugby. In 2011 David joined Jersey RFC helping them gain promotion to the RFU Championships
