David Watkins (British politician) is a British politician who served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Labour Party from 1966 to 1983. He was born on 27 August 1925 in Cardiff, Wales. Watkins was educated at Cardiff High School and the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. He worked as a teacher before entering politics. Watkins was first elected to the House of Commons in 1966, representing the constituency of Cardiff South East. He held the seat until 1983, when he retired from politics. During his time in Parliament, Watkins served as a Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Wales from 1974 to 1979. He was also a member of the Select Committee on Welsh Affairs from 1979 to 1983. Watkins is currently 88 years old. He has not revealed his current net worth.
