Dic Jones is a Welsh producer and production manager who has worked on a number of films and television shows. He is best known for his work on the BBC series Doctor Who, for which he was the production manager from 1965 to 1969. He has also worked on films such as The Italian Job (1969), The Man Who Haunted Himself (1970), and The Wicker Man (1973). Jones was born in Tre'r-ddôl, Cardiganshire, Wales, UK on 30 March 1934. He attended the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, where he studied English and Drama. After graduating, he joined the BBC as a production assistant in 1960. Jones has been married twice, first to actress and singer Mary Hopkin, and then to actress and singer Linda Lewis. He has two children, a son and a daughter. Jones has been involved in a number of charitable causes, including the British Red Cross, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, and the British Heart Foundation. He is also a patron of the Welsh National Opera.
