Dickie Williams was a professional footballer who played for Cardiff City, Swansea City, and Newport County. He was born in Mountain Ash, Wales, and began his career with Cardiff City in 1945. He made over 200 appearances for the club before moving to Swansea City in 1952. He made over 100 appearances for Swansea before moving to Newport County in 1956. He made over 100 appearances for Newport before retiring in 1960. Williams was known for his strong tackling and his ability to read the game. He was also known for his leadership qualities and was often seen as a father figure to the younger players. Williams was inducted into the Welsh Football Hall of Fame in 2004. He passed away in 2017 at the age of 92.
