Dominique Estrosi Sassone is a French politician who has served as the Mayor of Nice since 2008. She is a member of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) and is the wife of former French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe. Estrosi Sassone was born on 14 November 1958 in Nice, France. She studied law at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and graduated in 1981. She then went on to become a lawyer and was admitted to the Bar of Nice in 1983. Estrosi Sassone was first elected to the Nice City Council in 1995 and was re-elected in 2001. She was elected Mayor of Nice in 2008 and was re-elected in 2014. She is also a member of the Regional Council of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes. Estrosi Sassone is married to Édouard Philippe, the former Prime Minister of France. They have two children together.
