Doyle McManus is an American journalist and political commentator. He was born on November 18, 1955 in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Harvard University in 1977 with a degree in government. McManus began his career as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times in 1978. He was a White House correspondent for the Times from 1981 to 1984. He then moved to Washington, D.C. to become the Times' national political correspondent. In 1989, he became the paper's Washington bureau chief. McManus has written for numerous publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and The Atlantic. He is currently a columnist for the Los Angeles Times and a political analyst for NBC News and MSNBC. McManus is the author of two books, The Power and the Glitter: The Washington Punditocracy and the American Dream (1990) and Deadlock: The Inside Story of America's Closest Election (2001). McManus has won numerous awards for his work, including the Gerald R. Ford Prize for Distinguished Reporting on the Presidency, the National Press Club's Edwin M. Hood Award for Diplomatic Correspondence, and the Los Angeles Press Club's President's Award. As of 2021, Doyle McManus's net worth is estimated to be $2 million.
