She was the daughter of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz III of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Grand Duchess Anastasia Mikhailovna of Russia. Dronning Alexandrine married King Christian X of Denmark in 1898. She was the mother of two sons, King Frederick IX and King Knud. Dronning Alexandrine was a popular figure in Denmark and was known for her charitable works. She was also a patron of the arts and was a great supporter of the Danish film industry. Dronning Alexandrine died on 20 April, 1952 in Copenhagen, Denmark. She was 72 years old.
