Dumitru Cipere is a Romanian former professional boxer who competed from 1979 to 1991. He held the WBA light middleweight title from 1985 to 1986, and the European light middleweight title from 1986 to 1987. Cipere was born on 22 November 1957 in Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Romania. He began his professional boxing career in 1979, and won his first title, the Romanian light middleweight title, in 1981. He won the WBA light middleweight title in 1985, and defended it twice before losing it in 1986. He then won the European light middleweight title in 1986, and defended it twice before losing it in 1987. Cipere retired from boxing in 1991 with a record of 44 wins (25 by knockout), 8 losses, and 1 draw. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2019.
