Ed Barge was an American animator, visual effects artist, and actor. He was born on August 29, 1910 in San Jose, California. He began his career in animation in the 1930s, working for Walt Disney Productions. He was a key animator on the classic Disney films Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) and Fantasia (1940). He also worked on the Disney shorts The Reluctant Dragon (1941) and The Three Caballeros (1944). Barge left Disney in 1945 and went on to work for Warner Bros. and MGM. He was a key animator on the classic Tom and Jerry cartoons, and he also worked on the classic Looney Tunes cartoons. He also worked on the classic television series The Flintstones and The Jetsons. Barge also worked as a visual effects artist on films such as The Towering Inferno (1974) and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). He also had a small role in the film The Towering Inferno. Barge passed away on April 8, 1993 in Los Angeles, California. He was 82 years old.
