He is best known for his success in the 1948 Summer Olympics, where he won a gold medal in the men's coxless fours event. Kristensen began rowing in 1945 and quickly rose to prominence in the sport. He was part of the Danish team that won the gold medal in the men's coxless fours event at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London. He also won a bronze medal in the men's eight event at the same Olympics. Kristensen continued to compete in rowing events until the late 1950s. He retired from the sport in 1959 and has since been inducted into the Danish Rowing Hall of Fame. Kristensen's net worth is unknown.
