Elga Bassøe was a Danish actress who was active in the theater and film industry from the 1920s to the 1950s. She was born on 23 November 1896 in Randers, Denmark. Bassøe began her career in the theater in the 1920s, performing in plays such as "The Wild Duck" and "The Lady from the Sea". She made her film debut in the 1929 film "The White Slave". She went on to appear in a number of films throughout the 1930s and 1940s, including "The Red Meadows" (1931), "The Great Adventure" (1932), "The Great Love" (1934), and "The White Horse Inn" (1936). In the 1950s, Bassøe retired from acting and moved to the United States. She died in Los Angeles, California on 28 April, 1983. At the time of her death, Bassøe had an estimated net worth of $1 million.
