Corley has a post graduate diploma in management studies, is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute. She lives in London and travels regularly between Allianz’ offices in Europe, the United States and Asia. Corley is also known as a crime fiction writer. She was vice-chairperson of the Crime Writers' Association and is still an active member Corley was on the shortlist for the 2008 Dagger in the Library award. Between 2017 and 2018, Corley chaired a UK Government-commissioned review and then taskforce to make recommendations on how to increase the growth of social impact investing in the UK.
She was a member of the supervisory board at Euler Hermes until February 2017 and of the management committee of Forum of European Asset Managers, where she previously served two terms as chairwoman. In 2014, she was appointed to the European Securities and Markets Authority's stakeholder group. On 1 May 2014 she was appointed as an independent non-executive director of Pearson plc, the British multinational education and publishing company. In 2005, she joined Allianz Global Investors Europe as CEO and was a member of the Executive Committee of Allianz Asset Management (the holding company of Allianz's asset management businesses) since October 2005 until 2016.
