On 12 January 2018, Osborne and Fleetwood teammate Dion Charles were sold to National League North side Southport for an undisclosed fee. Manager Kevin Davies stated that he had been impressed by Osbourne's form at Morecambe, and went on to say that "he has a fantastic passing range, high energy and an eye for goal, as well as those battling qualities that we need in our team right now". He scored three goals in 16 appearances for the "Sandgrounders" in the second half of the 2017–18 season.
On 21 September 2018, Osborne returned to Stockport County on loan. The loan proved to be a success and he was transferred permanently on 6 November, signing a two-year deal at the club; manager Jim Gannon said that "I trust that as he matures and develops as a player that it will add to our own growth as a team and club." He scored two goals in 37 appearances over the course of the 2018–19 season, helping the "Hatters" to win promotion as champions of the National League North.
On 19 January 2017, Osborne joined National League North side Stockport County on a two-month loan deal. Two days later, Osborne made his Stockport debut in their 3–3 draw with Darlington 1883, featuring for the entire 90 minutes. On 18 February, Osborne scored his first goal for Stockport in a 2–1 victory over FC United of Manchester at Edgeley Park; this proved to be his last appearance for the side before he returned to Fleetwood. On 9 August 2017, he joined League Two side Morecambe on a half-season loan. He scored one goal in 13 appearances for Jim Bentley's "Shrimps".
Released by Port Vale at an early age, he came through non-league teams Newcastle Town and Nantwich Town to turn professional at Fleetwood Town in June 2016. From Fleetwood he was loaned out to Tranmere Rovers, Stockport County, and Morecambe, before being sold to Southport in February 2018. He joined Stockport County permanently in November 2018 following a second loan spell at the club and helped County to win the 2018–19 National League North title.
With this impressive form, Osborne earned himself a move to League One side Fleetwood Town in June 2016. On 30 September 2016, Osborne joined National League side Tranmere Rovers on a 28-day loan deal. A day later, Osborne made his Tranmere debut, replacing James Norwood in the 66th minute during a 0–0 draw with Dagenham & Redbridge. On 4 October, Osborne made his first Tranmere start in their 1–0 home defeat against Gateshead, featuring for the entire 90 minutes. Preceding his return from Tranmere Rovers, Osborne made his Fleetwood Town debut in an EFL Trophy tie against Carlisle United, in which Fleetwood suffered a 4–2 defeat.
After a nine-year spell with Port Vale, Osborne was released by the club and joined Northern Premier League Division One South side Newcastle Town in July 2014. After netting seven times in twenty-seven appearances for Newcastle Town, Osborne joined Northern Premier League Premier Division side Nantwich Town in February 2015. Osborne went onto impress in Nantwich's 2015–16 campaign, scoring 13 league goals and nine goals in cup competitions.
