In 1996, Ross starred in the film The Preacher's Wife, alongside Denzel Washington and Whitney Houston. She also appeared in the television series The Jeffersons and The Cosby Show. Ross has been married twice, first to singer and actor Johnny Nash and then to actor and director Robert Hooks. She has two children, a son and a daughter.
