Josi began his career in alpine skiing in the early 1970s and quickly became one of the top skiers in the world. He won the World Cup overall title in 1977 and 1978, and was the first Swiss skier to win the World Cup. He also won the World Cup slalom title in 1977 and 1978, and the giant slalom title in 1978. Josi competed in the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria, where he won a bronze medal in the giant slalom. He also competed in the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York, where he finished in fourth place in the giant slalom. Josi retired from competitive skiing in 1982 and has since become a successful businessman. He is the owner of a ski resort in Switzerland and is involved in several other business ventures.
