He is Chairman of Guinness Ghana Breweries, since 2018. Before taken up this role, Addo served as Chairman of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation. Addo who trained as an accountant, is chiefly known for his past consultancy and financial advisory work with big accounting firm, PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) in Ghana.

In September 2018, it was announced by Guinness Ghana that Addo will be taking the role of Non-Executive Chairman of the Company. Prior to this, he had been serving as a non-executive director of the company since January,2017. He became the first Ghanaian to chair GGBL’s board since the merger between Guinness Ghana Ltd. (GGL) and Ghana Brewery Ltd (GBL) in 2004.

Addo is also Chairman Emeritus of AIESEC Ghana – one of the world’s largest non-profit, youth-run organisations. He is a Corporate Executive in Residence at the Department of Accounting of the University of Ghana. He is also a member of the Advisory Council of the University of Ghana-College of Education. He is the Vice President of the Ghana America Chamber of Commerce
