Felix Kwasi Adinyira was born on 25 September 1925 in Ghana. He was a politician and served as the first Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana from 1960 to 1966. He was also a member of the National Liberation Council (NLC) from 1966 to 1969. Adinyira was educated at the University of Ghana, Legon, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics. He also attended the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he obtained a Master of Arts degree in International Relations. Adinyira was a member of the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC) and was a founding member of the Convention People's Party (CPP). He was a member of the National Assembly from 1956 to 1966 and was the first Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana from 1960 to 1966. He was also a member of the National Liberation Council (NLC) from 1966 to 1969. Adinyira was a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and was a member of the Council of State from 1993 to 2001. He was also a member of the Pan-African Parliament from 2004 to 2009. Adinyira was awarded the Order of the Star of Ghana in 1966 and the Order of the Volta in 2001. He died on 28 August 2020 at the age of 94.
