Fern Flanagan Saddler is an American judge who was born on 17 May, 1955 in Baltimore, MD. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1979 and was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1980. She was appointed to the Circuit Court for Baltimore City in 1995 and was elevated to the Court of Special Appeals in 2002. Saddler is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Maryland Judicial Conference, and the Maryland Women's Bar Association. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, the National Bar Association, and the National Association of Women Judges. Saddler is married to attorney Robert Saddler and has two children. She is an active member of the community and has served on the boards of numerous organizations, including the Maryland State Bar Association, the Maryland Women's Bar Association, and the Maryland Judicial Conference. Saddler has been recognized for her work in the legal profession, receiving the Maryland State Bar Association's Outstanding Service Award in 2002 and the Maryland Women's Bar Association's Outstanding Service Award in 2003. She was also named one of Maryland's Top 100 Women in 2004.

On April 30, 2018, the Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure recommended that President Trump reappoint her to second 15-year term as a judge on the D.C. Superior Court.

2003

President George W. Bush renominated her on January 7, 2003, to a 15-year term as an associate judge on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia to the seat vacated by Patricia A. Wynn. On June 18, 2003, the Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs held a hearing on her nomination. On June 26, 2003, the Committee reported her nomination favorably to the senate floor. On June 27, 2003, the full Senate confirmed her nomination by voice vote. She was sworn in on September 12, 2003.

2002

On June 11, 2002, President George W. Bush nominated Saddler to be an associate judge on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Her nomination expired on November 20, 2002, with the end of the 107th United States Congress.

1991

From 1991 to September 2003, Saddler served a Magistrate Judge (formerly known as Hearing Commissioner) of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

1984
