Born in Pisa, his first band is Criminal Jokers, a busker-punk band with new wave influences, where he writes the lyrics, sings, and plays the drum. The band's first album is This Was Supposed to Be the Future (2010), produced by Andrea Appino, the Zen Circus' leader. The second album of Criminal Jokers, Bestie (2012), is the first written in Italian. Meanwhile, Motta also plays live with Nada, Zen Circus, Il Pan del Diavolo, and Giovanni Truppi. In 2013 he moves to Rome where he starts to study soundtrack composition at the "Centro sperimentale di cinematografia di Roma". His first solo album is La fine dei vent'anni (2016), produced and co-authored by Riccardo Sinigallia. Besides Motta and Sinigallia, in the album also play Cesare Petulicchio (Bud Spencer Blues Explosion), Giorgio Canali, Andrea Ruggiero, Alessandro Alosi (Il Pan del Diavolo) and more. On September 20, 2016, he wins the prestigious Targa Tenco, "Opera prima" category. He also won the Special PIMI Award and the MEI Special Prize as an independent Italian artist.
