Francis Pollen is an English architect who was born on 7 December, 1926. He is best known for his work on the Royal Festival Hall in London, which he designed in 1951. He has also designed a number of other notable buildings, including the Royal College of Art in London, the Royal Academy of Arts in London, and the Royal College of Music in London. Pollen studied architecture at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, and graduated in 1950. He then worked for the London County Council, where he designed the Royal Festival Hall. He also worked for the Greater London Council, where he designed the Royal College of Art and the Royal Academy of Arts. Pollen has been awarded numerous awards for his work, including the Royal Institute of British Architects Gold Medal in 1975, the Royal Gold Medal in 1977, and the Royal Academy of Arts Gold Medal in 1981. He was also made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1982. Pollen is currently 91 years old and is married to his wife, Mary. He has two children, a son and a daughter.
