Frank Ashmore is an American actor best known for his roles in the films Airplane! (1980), Poltergeist (1982), and The Return of the Living Dead (1985). He has also appeared in numerous television series, including Dallas, Falcon Crest, and The A-Team. Ashmore was born in El Paso, Texas, on June 17, 1945. He attended the University of Texas at El Paso, where he studied theater. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Ashmore's first major role was in the 1980 comedy Airplane!, in which he played the role of Ted Striker. He went on to appear in the 1982 horror film Poltergeist, and the 1985 horror-comedy The Return of the Living Dead. In addition to his film roles, Ashmore has appeared in numerous television series, including Dallas, Falcon Crest, and The A-Team. He has also appeared in several made-for-TV movies, including The Night the City Screamed (1980) and The Return of the Living Dead Part II (1988). Ashmore has been married twice.
