He was born on November 11, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA. Potenza began his career as a stand-up comedian in the late 1950s, performing in clubs throughout the United States. He made his television debut in the early 1960s, appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In 1998, Potenza was cast as Uncle Frank on The King of Queens, a role he played until the show's end in 2007. He also appeared in films such as Analyze This (1999), The Family Man (2000), and The Italian Job (2003). Potenza passed away on August 23, 2011 at the age of 77. At the time of his death, his net worth was estimated to be around $2 million.
