Fredy Serrano is a Colombian freestyle wrestler who was born on 22 September, 1979 in Bogota, Colombia. He is a two-time Pan American champion and a two-time South American champion. He has also won several international tournaments, including the World Cup, the Grand Prix of Spain, and the Grand Prix of Germany. Serrano began wrestling at the age of 12 and made his international debut in 1998. He won his first international medal in 2001, when he won the bronze medal at the Pan American Championships. He went on to win the gold medal at the Pan American Championships in 2003 and 2005. Serrano has also won several international tournaments, including the World Cup, the Grand Prix of Spain, and the Grand Prix of Germany. He has also competed in the Olympics, winning the bronze medal in the 2012 London Olympics. Serrano is currently married to his wife, Maria, and they have two children. He is 41 years old.

Serrano was originally expected to face Ray Borg on July 30, 2016 at UFC 201. However Borg pulled out of the fight and was replaced by Ryan Benoit. He lost the fight via split decision.

Serrano faced Hector Sandoval on December 17, 2016 at UFC on Fox 22. He lost the fight via unanimous decision and was subsequently released from the promotion.

2015

Serrano faced former TUF: Latin America castmate Bentley Syler on March 21, 2015 at UFC Fight Night 62. Serrano won the fight by knockout in the third round. The win earned him a Performance of the Night bonus .
