George McLaren (Australian footballer) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the South Melbourne Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) from 1945 to 1954. He was a member of South Melbourne's 1945 premiership team and was a three-time club best and fairest winner. McLaren was born on 22 March 1925 in Melbourne, Victoria. He was educated at Melbourne High School and played his early football with the South Melbourne Districts Football Club in the Victorian Amateur Football Association. McLaren made his VFL debut for South Melbourne in 1945 and was a member of the club's premiership team that year. He was a regular in the side for the next nine seasons, playing mainly as a half-back flanker. He was a three-time winner of the club's best and fairest award, in 1947, 1949 and 1951. McLaren retired from VFL football at the end of the 1954 season. He later served as a selector for South Melbourne and was inducted into the club's Hall of Fame in 2003. McLaren died on 28 April 2021, aged 96.

In the 1951 season, his last, McLaren filled in as coach for a game against Richmond which they won by 26 points.
