Gershon Collier is a Sierra Leonean politician and diplomat who served as the country's Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1996 to 1997. He was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on 16 February 1927. Collier attended the Prince of Wales School in Freetown and then went on to study at the University of London, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He then went on to pursue a career in politics, becoming a Member of Parliament in Sierra Leone in 1962. In 1996, Collier was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, a position he held until 1997. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sierra Leone and the United States. He also served as the country's Ambassador to the United Nations from 1997 to 1998. Collier is currently retired and living in Freetown. He is married and has two children.
