Gianni De Michelis is an Italian actor who has appeared in numerous films and television series. He is best known for his roles in the films Avanzo di Balera (1984), Illustre Forforato (1985), and La Notte dei Miracoli (1987). He has also appeared in the television series Un Posto al Sole (1996-2001) and Il Commissario Montalbano (1999-present). De Michelis was born in Venice, Veneto, Italy on 26 November 1940. He studied acting at the Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico in Rome. He made his film debut in the 1981 film La Notte dei Miracoli. He has since appeared in numerous films and television series. De Michelis has won several awards for his work, including the Nastro d'Argento for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Avanzo di Balera in 1984, and the David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actor for his role in La Notte dei Miracoli in 1987. De Michelis is married to actress and director Francesca De Sapio. They have two children.
