He has also performed with artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Santana, and the Rolling Stones. Boyer began playing the trombone at the age of nine and went on to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. After graduating, he moved to San Francisco and joined Tower of Power in 1979. He has been a member of the band ever since. Boyer has also released several solo albums, including "Trombone Man" (1995), "Trombone Man 2" (1998), and "Trombone Man 3" (2001). He has also appeared on numerous other albums, including those by Bruce Springsteen, Santana, and the Rolling Stones. Boyer is currently married and has two children.
