Greg Joy is a Canadian high jumper who was born on April 23, 1956 in the United States. He is best known for winning the gold medal in the high jump at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. Joy began his athletic career at the University of Oregon, where he was a member of the track and field team. He won the NCAA high jump championship in 1975 and 1976. In 1976, Joy won the gold medal in the high jump at the Summer Olympics in Montreal. He set a Canadian record of 2.28 meters (7 feet 5.75 inches) in the event. Joy continued to compete in the high jump until the late 1980s. He won the silver medal at the 1978 Commonwealth Games and the bronze medal at the 1983 Pan American Games. Joy was inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 1985 and the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame in 1987. As of 2021, Greg Joy's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
