H. Kent Jones is a former North Dakota state senator and a member of the Republican Party. He was born on April 26, 1926 in Webster Township, Ramsey County, North Dakota. He attended the University of North Dakota and graduated with a degree in business administration. He was first elected to the North Dakota Senate in 1972 and served until his retirement in 1996. During his time in the Senate, he served as the Majority Leader from 1979 to 1982 and as the Minority Leader from 1983 to 1986. He was a member of the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education from 1997 to 2001. He also served as the Chairman of the North Dakota Republican Party from 2001 to 2003. H. Kent Jones is currently married to his wife, Mary, and they have two children. He is a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is also a member of the North Dakota Farm Bureau and the North Dakota Cattlemen's Association. As of 2021, H. Kent Jones's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
