Harry D. Train II was an American lawyer and public servant who served as the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia from 1961 to 1965. He was born in Washington, D.C. on November 5, 1927. Train graduated from Harvard Law School in 1951 and began his career as a lawyer in private practice. He was appointed as the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia in 1961 and served in that position until 1965. During his tenure, he was responsible for prosecuting several high-profile cases, including the trial of the Cuban spies who had infiltrated the U.S. government. Train was also a member of the American Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association. He was a member of the American Law Institute and the National Association of Former United States Attorneys. Train was married to the former Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Train and had two children. He passed away on April 28, 2021 at the age of 96.

After retiring from full-time military service, Train worked for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), the nation's largest employee owned research and engineering company. He retired from SAIC as its Manager, Hampton Roads Operations, in September 2006.

1978

From 1978 to 1982, Train served as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic as Commander-in-Chief, United States Atlantic Command and as Commander-in-Chief, United States Atlantic Fleet. He retired from the navy in 1982.

1976

Train's operational commands included the attack submarine USS Barbel (SS-580); the guided missile destroyer USS Conyngham (DDG-17); Cruiser-Destroyer Flotilla 8; the John F. Kennedy Battle Group; and from August 1976 to September 1978, the United States Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean Sea.
