Hendardji Supandji is an Indonesian lawyer and politician who served as the Minister of Law and Human Rights from 2009 to 2014. He was born in Semarang, Central Java, on 10 February 1952. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia in 1975 and obtained his master's degree in law from the University of Melbourne in 1981. Supandji began his career as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia in 1981. He was appointed as a professor in 1989 and served as the Dean of the Faculty of Law from 1997 to 2000. He was also a member of the Constitutional Court of Indonesia from 2003 to 2009. In 2009, he was appointed as the Minister of Law and Human Rights in the cabinet of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. He served in this position until 2014. During his tenure, he was responsible for the drafting of the new Indonesian Criminal Code and the new Indonesian Civil Code. Supandji is currently a professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia and a member of the Advisory Council of the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation. He is also a member of the International Commission of Jurists and the International Bar Association. As of 2021, Hendardji Supandji's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
