Werner-Kahle was a successful German stage actor who ran an acting school. His peak popularity was during the 1920s and he appeared in many films. When the talkies arose he played interesting supporting roles in such films as "Der alte und der junge König" (1935), "Togger" (1937), and "Der Maulkorb" (1938). Werner-Kahle's last onscreen work was during World War II in such films as "Unser Fräulein Doktor" (1940) and "Die Affäre Rödern" (1944).
