Ivan Žužek was a Slovenian politician and diplomat who served as the first Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia from 1991 to 1992. He was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 2 December 1924. Žužek studied law at the University of Ljubljana and graduated in 1949. He then worked as a lawyer in Ljubljana until he was appointed to the Slovenian government in the early 1960s. He served as the Minister of Justice from 1962 to 1967 and as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1967 to 1972. In 1991, Žužek was appointed as the first Prime Minister of the newly independent Republic of Slovenia. He served in this position until 1992, when he was replaced by Janez Drnovšek. Žužek was also a diplomat, serving as the Slovenian Ambassador to the United Nations from 1992 to 1997. He was also a member of the Slovenian Parliament from 1996 to 2000. Žužek died on 28 April 2020 at the age of 95. Ivan Žužek's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
