James Earl Jones is an American actor who has had an extensive career in film, television, and theater. He is best known for his voice-over work as Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise and as Mufasa in The Lion King. He has also appeared in numerous films, including The Great White Hope, Field of Dreams, and The Hunt for Red October.
Born on January 17, 1931, in Arkabutla, Mississippi, Jones was raised by his grandparents after his parents separated.
