James Forsyth is a British journalist and political commentator. He is the political editor of The Spectator and a columnist for The Sunday Times. He was born in 1981 in London, United Kingdom. Forsyth studied at Eton College and then at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he read History. After graduating, he worked as a researcher for the Conservative Party before joining The Spectator in 2005. He was appointed political editor in 2009. Forsyth is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4's Today programme and BBC2's Newsnight. He has also written for The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, The New Statesman, and The New York Times.
