Jamie Livingston was an American photographer, filmmaker, and circus performer. He was born in New York City on October 25, 1956. He was the son of a doctor and a nurse. Livingston was best known for his "Photo of the Day" project, which he began in 1979 and continued until his death in 1997. He took a photograph every day for 18 years, and the project was later published as a book. Livingston was also a filmmaker and circus performer. He wrote, directed, and starred in the film "The Last Circus" in 1995. He also performed in the circus with his wife, the aerialist and contortionist, Lola. Livingston died of cancer on October 25, 1997, at the age of 41. He left behind a legacy of photography, film, and circus performance.
