Jeffrey A. Neubauer is an American businessman and politician who was born on 8 December, 1955 in Racine, WI. He is the former chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. Neubauer graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1978 with a degree in political science. He then went on to earn a law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1981. Neubauer has held a number of positions in the Wisconsin Democratic Party, including chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party from 1995 to 1997. He was also a member of the Democratic National Committee from 1997 to 2001. Neubauer has also served as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1983 to 1995. He was also a member of the Wisconsin State Senate from 1995 to 1997. Neubauer is currently the president and CEO of Neubauer & Associates, a political consulting firm. He is also a partner in the law firm of Neubauer & Associates. Neubauer is married to his wife, Mary, and they have two children. He is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling.

In 1993, when Aspin was named Clinton's Secretary of Defense, Neubauer ran for congress in the special election, but lost the primary to Peter W. Barca.

Neubauer started his political career as an aide to Congressman Les Aspin (WI-01). He was elected to the Assembly in 1980, where he served for four terms, leaving in 1989. After leaving office he was elected chairman of the Wisconsin Democratic Party for four years. Neubauer also served as Bill Clinton's campaign manager for Wisconsin in both 1992 and 1996; Clinton carried the state both times.
