Jimmy Castro was born in Madrid, Spain and started acting at the young age of 8 in the television show "Canguros". He perfected his craft at the William Layton Theatre Lab based in Madrid and the Bob McAndrew Acting Studio in New York. He studied philosophy at the Autónoma University of Madrid for three years before dedicating himself to acting full-time in 2015.
It received numerous awards including "Best Director" (2015 Sunscreen Film Festival), "Best narrative feature" (2015 San Diego International Film Festival), "United Tribute Award" (2015 San Diego Film Festival), "Jury Award" (2016 Helsinki African Film Festival) and "Outstanding World Cinema Film" (2017 Black Reel Awards).
Castro starred in the ground-breaking film "Where The Road Runs Out" (2014) starring Ivorian actor Isaach De Bankolé and directed by Rudolf Buitendach marking the first feature film to be shot in Equatorial Guinea.
