In 2014, Joey was hired to write the feature length screenplay, 'Girl on the Edge,' the dramatic story of a self-destructive teenage girl who is sent away to an alternative healing center in the wilderness. The film won 13 film festivals and was distributed by Showtime Networks. Joey was then hired to write and direct a post-apocalyptic Sci-Fi feature, '2307: Winter's Dream.

2010

'Blue Valentine' premiered at Sundance in 2010 to great acclaim then premiered internationally at the Cannes Film Festival and Toronto Film Festival. It received 2 Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor and Actress. Michelle Williams received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.

Joey Curtis' directorial debut takes a highly impressionistic look at the world of illegal street racing in Southern California.
