He began his career in the film industry in the 1920s, working as a sound engineer for Universal Pictures. He worked on a number of films, including The Phantom of the Opera (1925), The Cat and the Canary (1927), and The Invisible Man (1933). In the 1940s, Aalberg moved to the music department, where he worked on a number of films, including The Wolf Man (1941), The Ghost of Frankenstein (1942), and The Mummy's Curse (1944). He also worked on a number of television shows, including The Lone Ranger (1949-1957) and The Adventures of Superman (1952-1958). John Aalberg passed away on April 3, 1959 in Los Angeles, California. He was 62 years old.
