John Aylesworth is a Canadian writer, producer, and actor. He is best known for his work on the television series The Hilarious House of Frightenstein, which he co-created and wrote for. He has also written for other television series, including The Red Green Show, The Littlest Hobo, and The Beachcombers. Aylesworth was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on August 18, 1928. He attended the University of Toronto, where he studied English and Drama. After graduating, he began working as a writer and producer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Aylesworth's career in television began in the late 1960s, when he co-created and wrote for The Hilarious House of Frightenstein. The show was a children's horror-comedy series that aired on CBC from 1971 to 1972. He also wrote for other television series, including The Red Green Show, The Littlest Hobo, and The Beachcombers. In addition to his work in television, Aylesworth has also written several books, including The Hilarious House of Frightenstein: The Official Companion and The Hilarious House of Frightenstein: The Complete Series. He has also written several plays, including The Last of the Red Hot Lovers and The Odd Couple. Aylesworth has been married twice and has two children. He currently resides in Toronto, Ontario.
