Training while an undergraduate at Harvard University, John studied through the American Repertory Theater and performed on stage, enjoying roles such as Haemon in Antigone, Billy in Anything Goes, Cain in Children of Eden, Oscar in Sweet Charity, and culminating as one of four actors in an original play of five one-act comedies that received critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. John has appeared on TV as a guest lead for ABC, on "The Practice" (1997), and a supporting lead in Kathryn Bigelow's 20th Century Fox pilot, "High School Undercover".
