Jonathan Stevens Jackson is an American actor, musician, and director. He was born on May 11, 1982 in Orlando, Florida. He is best known for his roles as Lucky Spencer on the ABC soap opera General Hospital, Avery Barkley on the CMT musical drama Nashville, and Jesse Tuck in the 2002 film Tuck Everlasting.
Jackson began his acting career at the age of five, appearing in commercials and television shows. He made his feature film debut in the 1994 drama Camp Nowhere. He then went on to appear in the films The Deep End of the Ocean (1999) and Tuck Everlasting (2002).
In 2003, Jackson joined the cast of the ABC soap opera General Hospital as Lucky Spencer. He won three Daytime Emmy Awards for his portrayal of the character. He left the show in 2011.
In 2012, Jackson joined the cast of the CMT musical drama Nashville as Avery Barkley. He left the show in 2018.
Jackson has also directed several music videos, including the video for the song "The Distance" by his band Enation.

Jonathan Jackson in a symbolic gesture, offered his 2005 Emmy Award to the "Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi" in Mount Athos, Greece. During his recent visit on the feast day of the Assumption of Mary on August 15, 2018, he took the award with him and took part on the Vigil with the monks, to whom he revealed his offer to the Mother of God.

He is the younger brother of actor/singer Richard Lee Jackson and Candice E. Jackson. His ancestry includes English, German, Finnish, Scottish, and Scandinavian (Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish). Jackson's family moved to Washington state when he was very young. Jonathan gave serious thought to an acting career following a family visit to Universal Studios Hollywood in 1991. His parents decided to let their sons try their luck in acting for 6 months, and so Jonathan and Richard moved down to Los Angeles with their mother while their father stayed back in Washington with Candice.
