He graduated from Harvard University in 1975 and received his Ph.D. in biology from Princeton University in 1981. Weiner is best known for his books on science and nature, including The Beak of the Finch (1994), which won the Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction in 1995, and Time, Love, Memory (1999), which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction in 2000.
